ao3 tagging system

as a writer it can be really important to tag your fics well if you want to reach all the people looking for fics like yours. and as a reader the tagging system can make it far easier to find the fics you want, whilst avoiding anything you don't want to see.

ao3 floaty review box

this is an amazing ao3 script that lets you add to your comment as you read!! gone are the days of having to try to remember everything you want to comment, in comes the new world of essays every comment!

linked is a tumblr post from the original creator which explains all it's features and includes a guide of how you can download it yourself! there's a tutorial linked too that has some a step by step explanation of how to download it if you're finding it confusing

fests

like many fandoms there are lots of fests going on in ncity, and naturally it can be hard to keep track ... thankfully the lovely folks over at @NCTcalender have collected them all together for us!!

linked is a handy google calendar with the timelines of all ongoing fests marked down as well as a masterlist of ongoing and upcoming fests that you can filter through based on their current status

betas

beta readers are an important part of the fic writing process for many authors! sadly it isn't always easy for authors to find someone to beta for their fics. however the good news is that there are multiple accounts set up just to solve this problem!

for both accounts you can find links to both sign up to be a beta and find a beta on their twitter. happy betaing everyone!!

social media aus

another realm of fan content we haven't discussed yet is social media aus!! these are a wonderful way of combining writing with visuals, they are however in plentiful supply and without the intricate tagging system of ao3 it can be hard to track the kind you want down.

lucky for us, the wonderful @_takuwu_ has created a lovely google doc of nctv socmedaus, seperated by ship and status! what a blessing !!

the community

nctficfic

@nctficfic is an amazing twitter account dedicated to showcasing a wide variety of nct/wayv fics. as well as running weekly trope collections, they also promote all sorts of writers on their account! its a great way to get exposure for your fics, find new fics to read and just interact with the fic community !

@Nwritersthoughts is an exciting new account focused on spreading love and encouragement for writers in the nctv fic community!! they aim to help give people a space in the community! they’re hoping to help writers befriend other writers and provide a place to promote writers !

DISCORD

another great way to get involved with the fic community is through discord servers! discord can be a great way to connect with other writers in a group setting, and there are even some set up to include betas and readers too.

writers of ncity is, as i'm sure you can guess based on its name, a discord server set up to connect fic writers in the nct fandom, so if you're a writing looking to get to know your fellow author-nims then this is the place for you!

writers against writing includes many different fandoms, both writers and readers, and so is a great way to chat to new people and find people to discuss fics with, you can click here for the invite link.
